Nobody wants to say that took advantage of a global crisis - but the reality is that the last 20 months have seen a number of companies use the time to think deeply about their strategy.
This period of reflection, amid different priorities for every type of business in the travel, tourism and hospitality sector, has led to the creation of products and ideas that were nowhere near being on their product roadmaps in late-2019.
But there are challenges for departments overseeing product development, including how to balance such new initiatives with operations, financing and ensuring the ideas will have some degree of longevity.
A trio of product and technology executives from a cross section of travel and tourism organisations shared their successes and failures and what types of products will win into recovery and beyond at the recent TravelTech Show 2021 online event.
