Airbnb is adding eight more community
partners to its “Try Before you Buy” program that helps people who can work
remotely to explore new cities as they consider where to live.
Airbnb launched the program in
February in partnership with Tulsa Remote, providing $150 Airbnb gift cards that
Tulsa Remote can give to people who are considering relocating to the city.
Now Airbnb is adding eight new
remote working initiatives in location such as Topeka, Kansas; southwest Michigan;
Tucson, Arizona; and Maine. Airbnb says the exact amount of each gift card and
distribution process is determined by the partner organization.
"Remote Tucson is very excited to
partner with Airbnb to provide additional value for individuals and families in
our program,” says Liz Pocock, CEO of Remote Tuscon.

“As our candidates are considering a
relocation, getting a feel for where they might live within our city is so
important. By giving them the option to try out a neighborhood at Airbnb
properties, they'll be able to choose a new home that fits their relocation
goals and truly lets them plug into our community.”
As part of the program Airbnb is also collaborating
with partner organizations to use Airbnb’s Online Experiences to introduce prospective
residents to the city.
Airbnb says in March it surveyed
more than 10,000 people in Australia, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom and
the United States and found 44% are interested in trying out a new city before
buying a home there.
