Wego is continuing to build its presence in the Middle East and North Africa, taking advantage of the opportunity the region provides.
Most recently, the metasearch specialist acquired Cleartrip's Middle East business from Flipkart, which includes the acquisition of Saudi Arabia-based online travel agency Flyin.
Ross Veitch, co-founder and CEO of Wego, discusses integrating the acquisition companies during an interview in the PhocusWire Studio at Phocuswright Europe.
He also explains some of the characteristics of the Middle East market, such as mobile usage, as well as Wego's customer acquisition strategy for the region, which "leans heavily into" social media.
Veitch also touches on recovery in Asia, where Wego also has a presence, and why he believes China is unlikely to open up until early 2023.
