Hyatt is adopting Sabre’s central reservation system (CRS) following an agreement between the two companies.
The SynXis CRS is to become the main reservation system for Hyatt properties from the beginning of next year.
The integration is expected to result in a faster search and booking process as well as greater operational efficiencies.
Eben Hewitt, chief information officer at Hyatt, said: “As part of our transformative growth journey, we heard directly from owners and franchise management companies that we had an opportunity to create a more efficient and streamlined central reservation system, and after a very thorough evaluation, we decided that Sabre would be the perfect provider for Hyatt’s global portfolio to make the search and booking process even better for guests.”
Additional features from the technology include flexible calendar search and an enhanced rooms and rates view.
“Our collaboration with Sabre will also simplify operations for on- and off-property colleagues that will result in enhanced experiences for our guests, World of Hyatt members and customers,” said Jessica White, senior vice president of global property and guest services at Hyatt.
“Adopting Sabre as our new central reservation system will increase the distribution breadth and reach of our brands and personalized direct booking experiences across our global portfolio.”

Hyatt's announcement of the deal with Sabre follows a partnership it unveiled last year with IDeaS for the development of Hyatt PrO to optimize revenue management.
Sabre Hospitality also recently announced the acquisition last week of hotel e-commerce solution Techsembly, which enables hotels to sell on- and off-property experiences and other add-ons in a centralized platform.
Competition between hotel technology players to bring large hotel chains on to their platforms is fierce. Amadeus announced IHG as launch partner for its system back in 2015. Last year, it announced a partnership for central reservation technology with Marriott.
Sabre, meanwhile, announced a partnership with Accor in 2020 to develop a combined property management and CRS for Accor. The deal was later abandoned however with the French hotel giant opting to use D-Edge Hospitality Solutions, a company it owns, instead.
