Bandwango, a Utah-based startup that organizes
in-destination activities into packages that can be sold by destination
marketing organizations and associations, has raised $3.12 million in a
seed financing round.
Next Frontier Capital led the investment with participation
by Kickstart, Signal Peak Ventures, SaaS Ventures, Ocean Azul Partners and
private investors. Prior to this, the startup had raised $700,000.
Bandwango’s Destination Experience Engine (DXE) enables DMOs
and other clients to create “passports” that combine free and paid experiences
at attractions, restaurants, state parks, breweries and more, grouped by themes
such as family trips, festivals and culture.

Visitors access the passports through white-labeled web applications
sent via text or email, which creates a direct communication channel that
destinations can use to drive additional offers and capture visit data.
“We are thankful to our employees, customers and investors
for their patronage and support,” says Monir Parikh, co-founder and CEO of
Bandwango.
“We will deploy this capital to enhance our product
offering, drive innovation, and support our growing roster of wonderful clients
and merchant network.”
Bandwango says its customer base more than doubled in the
past year to more than 200 destinations in the United States and Canada.
