Campsited has landed €600,000 in funding and plans to close a further €3 million round in the next three months.
Funding for the Ireland-based business has come from Motley Fool Ventures and Enterprise Ireland.
The campsite search and booking startup says the funds will be put towards further growth following 2020 when the business increased revenue 500%.
The company hopes to achieve similar growth in 2021.
Campsited also plans further product development as well making its platform available in three more languages and invest in driving domestic bookings to those campsites.
Finán O’Donoghue, chief executive of Campsited says he expects another spike in people choosing camping holidays in 2021 especially with many people choosing domestic stays again this year.
“Through COVID we have realised that we have a much more important purpose in people's lives. We’re here to help people spend quality time with loved ones in the open air setting and nature. Time in nature is a great healer and there is no better nourishment than uncomplicated time with friends and family, which is exactly what camping holidays are.”
