Following the launch of an optimized distribution agreement
with Marriott International last September, Expedia Group is now making that program
available to all of its medium- and large-size lodging partners.
The program gives Expedia Group distribution rights for the participating
hotels’ wholesale and promotional room rates, availability and content to third-party
travel providers such as bedbanks and a network of more than 100,000 travel
agents.
The online travel agency says this enables properties to
reduce the cost and complexity of redistribution, minimizes the existence of
inaccurate or misleading rates and content and improves the hotel’s position in
the metasearch marketplace.

The program is managed by Expedia Partner Solutions.“Our technology solutions are always rooted in partner
needs,” says Christian Gerron, senior vice president of enterprise solutions,
Expedia Partner Solutions at Expedia Group.
“We are constantly hearing that the lack of control and
ineffective yield management with B2B distribution is a major pain point for
partners, and we knew our ability to innovate and solve complex technology
issues can, and has, effectively addressed this market need.”
Expedia Group says multiple lodging partners, including Highgate and Club Quarters, have signed on
to date.
“As
a hotel management company, we’re always looking at solutions that make our
business more efficient and effective, and have lasting power,” says Ankur
Randev, chief commercial officer at Highgate.
“We
have partnered with Expedia Group for our wholesale distribution because we
trust them to safeguard our rates and brand while simplifying our B2B offering
and reach.”
