Commercial service
robotics company Maidbot – recently named
to PhocusWire’s
Hot 25 Startups for 2021 list - has closed a Series B round led by RB, the
makers of Lysol.
Existing investor Octave
Ventures also participated, along with several venture capitalists, executives
from hospitality and commercial real estate and family offices.
The company would not
disclose the exact amount of the funding but said it is eight figures.
Founded in 2015, Maidbot’s
primary product is Rosie the Robot, an automated device for hotels, rentals,
casinos, airports and other commercial spaces that cleans and tracks data such

The company says the
funding will “accelerate production and enable deployments across North
America, Europe and Asia Pacific.”

Along with the capital,
Maidbot and RB will work together to develop “innovative commercial cleaning
solutions.”
“We’re delighted to invest in Maidbot’s vision
to bring robotics to the commercial service industry,” says Rahul Kadyan, RB’s
executive vice president of Global Business Solutions.
“Maidbot has the potential to drive
significant improvements to hygiene standards across many sectors. Through this
investment and our partnership, Maidbot and RB will enable more businesses to
reassure customers on cleanliness and deliver an enhanced hygienic experience.”
RB recently created a Global Business Solutions
division to support businesses such as Delta Air Lines, Hilton and Avis Car Rental regarding
enhanced hygiene standards.
Says Maidbot
founder and CEO Micah Green: “We
are very excited to partner with RB to provide more robots to enhance hygiene
in the hospitality and commercial service industries. COVID has had an
unprecedented impact on these sectors and we are confident robotics can be part
of the non-pharmaceutical solutions that make the physical world a healthy and
safe place again.”
