Sabre has partnered with travel risk management platform Gopass Global to assign a biosecurity risk score for each flight itinerary that travel agents see.
The score, Sabre says, will help agents better advise their clients and shorten the booking process by making that information available during their shopping workflow.
The Gopass Travel Risk Optimizer uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to monitor arrival and exit restrictions, flight routes, airports, infection rates in the destination country and government policies, Sabre said. It then creates a risk score between 1 and 10 for every flight itinerary.
Sabre said Gopass' scores are relevant for both corporate and leisure advisors.
Gopass has been integrated with Sabre's shopping APIs and is available to advisors globally.
"It's clear leisure travelers want to know about potential travel risks so they can avoid or mitigate them," Gopass CEO Mark Radford says. "But this is especially critical for corporate travel as we learn to live with this pandemic.
"Companies need to ensure they are taking their duty of care to employees seriously when it comes to travel. It's essential, therefore, that travel agents, and ultimately travelers, have all of the critical information they need at their fingertips when planning their trip to make the decisions that are right for them."
