It's been a long time since a travel social network has caught some attention - but Travello has done so with a $5 million fund-raise.
The Australia-based company says it has brought in the investment from a group of private individuals, giving it a total raised since 2014 to $6.3 million.

Travello is a classic travel social network, giving users the ability to connect with fellow travelers, locate points of interest, create sub-communities and forums, message one another and find their way around destinations.
Whilst the numbers are impressive (350,000 active travelers and 1.8 million "events" logged in July this year, for example), Travello's technology and marketing platform behind the scenes is perhaps what has captured the imagination and money of its new backers.
One part of the business is the B2B services end, known as Bluetee.
The platform allows companies to geo-target users based on the app owner's current location, giving them options to serve with ads or show on the map what activities are available in a given area.
The company claims to have 50,000 bookable products available within the app.
It works with digital ticketing and redemption service TravScan so that users can hold their confirmation details within the app, rather than require a print-out or email.
