Travel management platform TravelPerk has launched its GreenPerk API, giving travel management companies and their customers tools to measure their carbon footprint and build strategies that help reduce emissions and aid the transition to net zero.
The GreenPerk API provides direct access to data and analytics across flight, rail, accommodation and car hire verticals, and TravelPerk claims it is the most comprehensive inventory of carbon footprint data related to national and international rail routes.
The API builds on TravelPerk’s GreenPerk product, which allows business travelers to report and offset their carbon impact directly through the TravelPerk platform.
The GreenPerk API can provide comparisons of the cost of different modes of low-emissions travel, dependent on factors such as route, city destinations, airports and the availability of alternative travel modes.

“We recognize the challenge in developing a sustainability strategy and as a business, we wanted to put our focus into providing a solution that is open, flexible and easy to integrate,” says TravelPerk co-founder and CEO Avi Meir.
“GreenPerk API will enable companies to think holistically about sustainability, meaning not just reducing travel emissions but feeding this information into a wider approach that looks at tackling the environmental impact of collaborating in a hybrid working environment where business travel is a key component.”
In September 2021, TravelPerk acquired sustainability consultancy Susterra – its third acquisition that year following NextTravel and Click Travel - for an undisclosed sum.
In January 2022, the Spain-based company raised a $115 million Series D round and announced it was adding ex-Booking.com CEO Gillian Tans to its board.
