U.S.-based TWAI is bolstering its credentials in the field of distribution technology in aviation with the acquisition of Airlines Technology.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed and is expected to close in the first quarter of this year.
Airlines Technology was selected as one of PhocusWire's Hot 25 Startups 2019, four years after it was founded in the Indian city of Gurgaon.
The company, armed with NDC accreditation, has already grabbed some important airline customers in the shape of British Airways, American Airlines and FlyDubai.

To date, it has built 19 direct connections with airlines and has over 30 customers using the platform.
TWAI says it will use the technology to provide NDC content through its existing platform, known as TripMole.
CEO Trideep Aggarwal says: "This transaction will enable us to provide next generation services to our clients globally. NDC has an important role in the future and we will lead the global race of NDC solutions with this acquisition.
"There are multiple fragmented solutions for NDC but we would be the first in the world to be able to offer the complete solution including booking platform, rich content and NDC together. Through our great products and NDC, we would be able to bring the next generation shopping experience to our customer’s desktops, mobiles and tablets."
Airlines Technology will continue to operate as a business unit within TWAI, the company says.
Varun Bansal, Airlines Technology’s founder and CEO, says: "Airlines Technology was founded to disrupt the monopoly and break the barriers created by the existing distributors. I am amazed how these distributors claim to be technology providers but do nothing for the benefit of end customers."
