While most airlines have offered destination content for some time, often within in-flight magazines, few have taken it to the next level.
Smartvel enables airlines to offer more dynamic and personalized destination content through its technology.
The Spain-based company received more than $1 million in funding about a year ago and is now looking to expand.
PhocusWire interviewed Smartvel chief executive
Iñigo Valenzuela at the World Aviation Festival 2019 in London where he talked about additional funding and international growth.
He went on to discuss the challenges of getting the attention of airlines and other travel companies for Smartvel’s dynamic content.
Valenzuela said it’s not only about getting to the right person but also getting to them at the right time because of the volume of requests they get.
He also talked about getting to customers at the right time in the purchase funnel and said that for 90% of the bookings it’s about 40 hours before a trip.
