Travel content specialist Smartvel has acquired of Avuxi, a specialist in location-based travel services, for an undisclosed amount.
Avuxi’s platform TopPlace analyzes geotagged data to uncover the highlights of cities and local areas. In addition, the platform, which is used by online travel agencies and metasearch sites to help drive conversion, enables travelers discover and decide on a location for their stay.
Founded in 2013, Smartvel’s range of solutions include Trip Planner, Explore&Go, Event Calendar, TravelSEO, EntryDocs and more. Each is designed to inspire travelers with personalized offers and boost conversion.
As part of its long-term strategy to lead the destination content market, Smartvel acquired destination content specialist ArrivalGuides last year. This move expanded Smartvel’s content offerings and opened up new opportunities for growth.

By integrating Avuxi into its suite of AI enriched technology, Smartvel intends to increase the scope of its product offering and create synergies internally and with customers.
