Ride-share platform Uber and Turo, a car rental marketplace, announced a multi-year partnership that will enable Uber users across key global markets to rent from Turo’s selection of vehicles directly from the Uber app.
Beginning in early 2025, Uber will have Turo’s selection of over 1,600 makes and models available to the Uber Rent platform. This will bring more opportunities for Turo hosts and enable Uber customers to rent out their choice of vehicles directly on the app in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and France.
The platform is growing rapidly, having introduced UberX Share in Madrid earlier this year, which enabled users to save up to 30% by sharing rides with other users all while promoting sustainable travel.

In addition to building its platform, Uber has been expanding its travel options. Last year, they announced a new feature that allows users to reserve a boat on the Greek island of Mykonos or concierge service at partner hotels.
Andro Vrdoljak, vice president of business development at Turo, said, “Our partnership with Uber unlocks a huge opportunity to utilize the Uber Rent platform to turbocharge growth and further cement our position as the world's largest peer-to-peer car-sharing platform. By joining forces with Uber, Turo is well positioned to penetrate a massive $150 billion-plus total addressable market.”
"By working together, we can further our shared goals of reducing private car ownership and putting the cars that are on the road to better use, all while giving Uber Rent customers more choice to pick the ideal car for their next errand or weekend getaway," said Niraj Patel, global head of consumer vehicles at Uber.
