But throw in the chaos that ensued as a result of COVID-19 and it would take a brave soul to keep to the strategy, as customer volumes plummeted.
Step forward CuddlyNest, a platform for vacation rentals and other forms of accommodation.
It has been forced to position itself as a viable alternative to the cash-rich big players in the market, with an emphasis on service, differentiated product and other ways of getting customers through the front door.
