CEO Spotlight: Jeff Kim of Yanolja Cloud

Since 2007, South Korea-based Yanolja has become a leading online travel agency with revenue in the second quarter of this year of more than $175 million, up 42% year over year. 

In 2021, the company created its B2B hospitality solutions company, Yanolja Cloud, that is working to digitize interactions between hotels and guests through artificial intelligence and cloud-based products. In the second quarter Yanolja Cloud revenue surged by 157% year over year and contributed about one-third of Yanolja’s total revenue as it has grown to more than 50 offices globally with a strong presence in the United States, India and Latin America. 

So what are Yanolja Cloud’s plans for the future and how does it differentiate itself from competitors in the crowded space of cloud-based hospitality technology?

In a wide ranging interview with PhocusWire, Yanolja Cloud CEO Jeff Kim discussed the opportunity he sees for continued rapid growth and how acquisitions may play a role. 

He also explained the company’s artificial intelligence strategy – what it calls “vertical AI” – and why he believes that is the most effective way to use AI capabilities.
