Mobi, a company using artificial intelligence to help travel sellers improve trip planning, is claiming a first with the launch of its Intent Driven Search technology (IDS).
The search and discovery technology combines natural language search with generative AI and its content store of points of interest around the world to present users with a “best match” for destinations, accommodation and experiences.
Anna Jaffe, founder and CEO of Mobi, pointed to moves from browser companies to offer natural language search by employing large language models.
“At Mobi, we leverage generative AI and LLMs to power natural language capabilities and understand guest travel intents," she said. "We then use a multimodal approach, combining our proprietary content with advanced planning and optimization AI to deliver fast, accurate recommendations that meet guests' specific requirements and desires."

According to a release, Mobi IDS “ingests, cleans and structures data from multiple sources to provide real-time and accurate information” about a location or property. The company added that it can be implemented in about six weeks.
Mobi IDS also will learn the behavior and preferences of users by enabling them to ask questions with natural language. The insights will in turn help travel brands with communications and marketing.
Mobi’s vice president of product Harriet Brown added that IDS would help hotels provide potential guests with tailored recommendations on destination, property and activities by listening to their intentions.
