A new acquisition could give tour and attraction companies a way to send targeted text messages to guests based on their on-site location while gathering valuable customer data. RocketRez, a ticketing and business operations software platform, has acquired chatbot technology TourOpp Go! for an undisclosed amount.
RocketRez primarily serves mid-market clients in boat tours and ferries, zoos and aquariums, attractions and theme parks, and museums and galleries.
“Communication between attractions operators and guests on-site is an integral part of creating an unforgettable guest experience,” says John Pendergrast, CEO of RocketRez. “The combination of real-time communication and a mobile guest experience portal provides top attractions with data and opportunities that they have never had before.”
TourOpp Go! says its AI-driven technology automates communication between tourist attractions and ticket buyers. Text messaging helps tour and attraction operators maximize revenue, get more customer reviews and save money on customer service, according to TourOpp Go!

RocketRez says the acquisition enables it to integrate chatbot tech into RocketPASS, its new, customer-facing portal.
RocketPASS is a mobile QR code ticket that also acts as a digital wallet. Customers scan the code, which is attached to their customer account and payment method, to purchase anything from concessions to parking. Operators can view data captured from each digital touchpoint and send real-time communication to customers through the portal based on where the customer is located.
The TourOpp Go! team, which is based in Miami and has operations in Quito, Ecuador, will be integrated into RocketRez’s product, customer service and sales teams.
Headquartered in Canada, RocketRez recently announced a $15 million Series B funding round. The company says it is “moving rapidly to gain ground and further establish itself as the leader in innovative ticketing technologies” across North America and into Europe.
