Hot 25 Startups 2019: LuggageHero

This Danish company with an incredibly simple model (web booking for locating and storing traveler bags in local stores) is growing fast, having expanded to London and New York from its hometown within a year.

The business model works (and requires a relatively low number of staff), despite the low unit cost for the service for travelers. Expect an expansion into third-party sales and other cities.

Goals for 2019

Starting in 2019, the company will begin to roll out the LuggageHero service in 36 additional cities in the United States and Europe. The first nine are expected to be operational in March, with the final ones coming onboard by January 2020. 

It will also offer third-party integration with hospitality companies, allowing vacation rental companies, for example, to integrate storage reservation options into their own platforms. The integration will eventually be offered to online travel agency and other booking-related sites.
